Ipanema, Guantanamera, San Jose, and Katmandu. These were places in song titles. That's why Katmandu was spelled without the "h."

February 13 was the first show with the writers back, and they abandoned the song title places. The only cities on the globe I could make our were Parchment and Reading. They stayed up there for the February 14 show, as well.

January 28, 2008 - January 31, 2008

Tallahassee, Tampa, Orlando, St. Augustine, and Tavernier. Florida's disputed primary was a big deal.

Moscow, Helsinki, Reyjavik, Ottawa, Tallinn, and Ulan Bator. These were capitals of cold places. It was cold at the time.

Princeton, Smallville, Tree Hill, Dillon, Scranton, and Jericho. The settings for television shows without writers.

January 7, 2008 - January 10, 2008

Hollywood, Uniontown, Unionbridge, and Tenstrike. The 2007-2008 WGA strike was underway, and the Daily Show was one of the few programs to return sans writers.

On January 9 the strike theme was abandoned in favor of Manchester, Concord, and Dixville Notch. This was the night of the New Hampshire primary. The next night the strike theme returned.
